Lectotype (Gorteria 36: 185): BM, herb. Barton & Riddelsdell nr. 7530, W. M. Rogers, Haslemere, Surrey, 18.8.1900.

A type cannot consist of two specimens. Therefore only nr. 7530 has been selected as lectotype while nr. 11280 in the herbarium of Barton & Riddelsdell, that Edees & Newton (1988: 46) also included in the type, is excluded.
